After another day of skating, biking or just relaxing in the park it is just 2 minutes by foot to get to the famous Leidse Plein. On this square you?ll have fun just watching all different people and performers passing by, while enjoying your drink on one of the many terraces. At night all pubs, clubs and theatres open their doors to guarantee you a good time. Our own Uptown Bar in the hostel is a very good place to meet fellow travelers, and to save some money on drinks, because we have the lowest beer price in town, so you can drink cheap before going out.

Flying Pig Terms and Conditions
To preserve and maintain our laid-back atmosphere we do not allow: Persons under 18 year of age or above 40, pets, any bookings of stag nights, hen nights or sport tours, soccer fans for (inter)national matches and large groups of males ( 6 persons or more ). Read the above carefully because in the event of a false booking, there will be no check in nor will there be a refund.

When you make a reservation on our secure server, your card is charged a 10% deposit online, which is nonrefundable. On the day of arrival we will check your credit card number. If the number is not valid for any reason, your reservation will be canceled. Upon arrival you can pay with your credit card/ bankcard or cash. In case you have not arrived the next day and did not cancel your reservation at least 24 hours before arrival, you will be charged for the first night.
Opening hours of the Uptown reception are 8:15-21:00 and of the Downtown reception 8:15-23:30. When you arrive after this time, you will need to leave a down payment of ? 40.00 pp, which you will get back the next morning when you officially check in before 10:30. For a twin room in the Downtown, the down payment will be ? 100 per room.

You will be charged for all bookings you make so please make sure you book at the hostel of your choice (Downtown, Uptown or Beach) for the dates of your choice. If you have made a reservation over the internet and you wish to extend your stay, you have to make a second reservation for the extending date(s). If there is no online availability on the extended dates, it means that all cyber beds are booked. You can still try to extend your stay when you arrive at the hostel. Subsequent nights of accommodation must be paid for on arrival, or no later than 21:00 hrs, the day before.
Please make sure you cancel bookings you made at other hostels. If you don't cancel at the other Flying Pig hostels, your credit card will be charged as a no-show. In case of a no-show, your credit card will be charged for the 1st night of your stay, the rest of that booking will be canceled.

Cancellations or changes to your existing reservation have to be made at least 24 hours before arriving. You can do this on Monday-Thursday by e-mail you will find the contact details on your confirmation from Hostelbookers. Always send your reservation details with your change or cancellation, so your reservation can be found in the system as soon as possible. Make sure you cancel all your bookings.
Only when you receive a personal reply with the confirmation of your change or cancellation, you can be sure that it has been processed. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you will have to call the hostels directly. Write down the date and time of canceling and the name of the person you spoke to.

After making the reservation, you receive an e-mail, with all your booking details and a reference number. This is your confirmation. Make sure you bring this confirmation with you to the hostel that you booked with otherwise reservation confusion will be at your own responsibility. If you do not receive a confirmation from us, you do not have a reservation.
We make every effort to accommodate you in the dormitory size of your choice. However, because of the nature of our business, we may have to place you in an alternative dormitory. As a result, the balance to be paid upon arrival might be slightly different than what is stated on your confirmation.
A booking for over 10 persons is considered a group booking and can not be booked over the web. To find out if you can make a group booking, you can call the head office on week days from 10am to 5pm local time (Amsterdam). Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate groups during weekends and high season.
The Pig Management & Staff reserve the right to refuse accommodation to anyone.

Take tram 1,2 or 5 from Central Station. Get off at "Leidse Plein".Go straight ahead, cross the bridge and street, and turn left. Walk past the entrance gates of the park. Then turn right.
This is the 'Vossiusstraat'.
Trains between Schiphol and Central Station depart about every 10 minutes between 6am and 1am, and once every hour between 1am and 6am.
For your convenience we have a shuttle service from the Uptown Hostels to Schiphol Airport. You can buy a voucher at reception for only 7 euros.
