Red Bus 2 has now closed for the winter season, we will be open again from June 1st 2008. Here's the blurb....The Red Bus 2 is a colourful , funky, clean, cheap backpackers hostel in a traditional Budapest style courtyard building in Budapest's fashionable seventh district , which boasts the Synagogue, Listz Ferenc Square the heart of Budapest's hip cafe culture and is also easy walking distance from the City Park where the must see Szecheyni Thermal Baths, Zoo, and Heroes Square are situated.
Buda and the Castle District are an easy tram or metro ride away.
The Red Bus II is hostel is a backpackers haven. Certainly one of Budapest cheapest options for the summer, the hostel is a summer sister hostel of the ever popular Red Bus Hostel.
The hostel can offer FREE INTERNET, FREE BREAKFAST, FREE COFFEE ALL DAY full kitchen facilities and we provide clean bed linen, there is NO CURFEW and 24 hour reception, hot showers, clean toilets, the staff are all local Hungarians who can help with recommendations, travel info and of course translating the impossible Hungarian language! Walking, biking and caving tours can be organized and we have secure baggage storage which is free to use once you have checked out.
The hostel is close to all train stations and easily reached from the Airports. For those of you traveling by car there are secure car parks nearby
For this summer the Red Bus II is easily the budget backpackers best option price and quality wise! We accept Euros and Pounds.

FROM THE AIRPORTS We recommend you to take the Airport Minibus who will deliver you to any address in Budapest for 2300 Forint per person, the Airport Minibus Co. have an information desk inn the arrivals terminal.
FROM KELETI TRAIN STATION Exit Keleti Station it?s main entrance next to platform 8. Ahead of you, you will see a Pizza Hut and in a distance the Grand Hotel. Head towards the Grand Hotel down Rákóczi utca, and after passing the Hotel.
Take your 3 rd right into Szövetség utca, carry straight on at the crossroads and the Red Bus II is halfway up your right at number 35, opposite Tivadar utca . Ataxi should cost no ore than 1200HUF.
FROM NYUGATI TRAIN STATION Exit the main entrance of Nyugati Station onto the main street, look to your right and you will see a blue M sign .
Go down the subway and buy a ticket (185 ft Vonaljegy), it is best to write this down as they won?t speak any English.
Once you have bought your ticket go back up to the main entrance of Nyugati Station and jump on tram 4 or 6, heading towards Móricz Zsigmond körtér , not towards the big fly over in the distance. Be sure to stamp your ticket once on the tram. Get off the tram at the 3rd stop Wesselényi utca .
Turn right into Wesselényi utca (Spar Supermarket on corner) and 4th right into Szövetség utca, Red Bus II is halfway up on yor right opposite Tivadar utca . A taxi should cost no more than 1700HUF.
FROM DELI TRAIN STATION From Déli Station follow the red M sign to Déli metro station.
At the metro station go to the Pénztár window, you have to buy a ticket (185 ft Vonaljegy), it is best to write this down as they won?t speak any English. Be sure to stamp your ticket in the orange boxes at the top of the escalators.
Jump on a train heading towards Örs vezér tere and get off at the 6th stop Blaha Lujza tér . When you exit Blaha Lujza tér metro sation, follow the exit signs for Erzsébet körút.
Walk up Erzsébet körút for 100 meters and take your 1st right into Dohány utca , and take your 4th left into Szövetség utca. Red Bus II is halfway up on yor right opposite Tivadar utca . A taxi should cost no more than 3500HUF.
