The 'Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto' (STCP) operates within the city of Oporto as well as though its outskirts. This transport network covers an area that goes 10 Kilometers to the north and 6 kms to the south of city, including the neighboring councils of Matosinhos, Maia, Gondomar, Valongo and Vila Nova de Gaia.
There are 79 bus lines and a historic tram. The timetabels vary according to each line, but daytime goes from 07h00 to 21h00. The frequency varies during the night, weekends and holidays, as do some of the itineraries, so it is necessary to check these before planning a journey. One-day tickets are available on board of the bus. Other tickets can be bought in several sales points.
Aero bus: Every 30 minutes from 07h00 to 19h30 comfortable buses do the fast connection between the airport, the hotels and Oporto center. The ticket can be bought at the bus or at the hotels, being valid for every bus or tram in the very day.
Car: From Oporto there are 3 highways: one to Lisbon (A1), other to Minho (A3) and another to Trás-os-Montes (A4).
Boat: The Leixões harbor is placed 5 Km's from Douro River, next the Oporto centre.
