Hostel Description

The building to which pension Alver resides was constructed in 1942 and is considered a historic building in Cudillero for its architectural characteristics. Much of the building has features that typically represent art deco and modern design. The staircase and banister is made from local horse chestnut wood spirals up three floors and down one from the ground floor.

Cudillero is a magnificent place to relax in privileged surroundings of Los Picos de Europa, The beaches of Aguilar, Artedo, San Pedro, and Silencio and many others in Asturias. It is also an excellent place for cultural visits, hiking, Gastronomy, horse riding, fishing, sailing, surfing, cycling and much more - ideal for enjoying your holidays to the maximum.

Festival "San Pedro", "San Pablo" and "San Pablin", celebrated every year on the last weekend of June bringing us into July. This is definitely a not to miss festival. The events vary from morning to the next morning with a contrast of different festive celebrations for all tastes, gastronomical, cultural ranging from Celtic bands, orchestras, rock, pop and much more, for all the family.

The "Regata Asturiana" stopped in Cudillero as usual on the 5th July 2007 and sailed out again on the 6th. Two of the yaughts crew more up at Pension Alver.

We have 6 comfortable bedrooms complete with heating, television, bathroom and WIFI.

The pension is situated in the Cudillero village centre on the main road near to all village amenities of restaurants, bars, walks, harbor, beaches and vantage points.

It is known for its cleanliness and good customer care and attention by residents over the past 16 years. We have double, twin and family or group accommodation and we are open all year round with the exception of Christmas and New Year.

Adjacent is an example of one of our family rooms with shower/bath facilities at 65 euros low season, 70 euros medium season and 85 euros high season. Each room has TV, plug and hairdryer sockets with WIFI. Our double rooms cost 35 Euros in low season, 40 Euros in medium season and 45 Euros in high season.

?Go for a culture trip to "El Palicio de las Selgas" and absorb some of the riches of the past and gaze at artwork by some of the great masters such as Goya and El Greco.
?Take a trip back in time to the Jurassic Museum, after all! it is the Jurassic Coast.
?Get your hiking boats on for a walk through El Valle de las Liuñas.
?And don't forget to have guzzled of local cider to go with your tapas.

Hostel Directions

The airport of Asturias is located in the Municiple of Castrillón, just 14 Km from Avilés, 40 Km from Gijón, 47 Km from Oviedo and only 15 minutes by car from Cudillero and Pension Alver.

National flights direct from Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Alicante, Málaga , Sevilla, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife Sur and international flights from Paris, Brussels and London Stanstead with connections to it from all over the UK at affordable prices.

By train: There are two types of trains that run in the area.
One that connects Oviedo with Madrid and Barcelona and another one which is the narrow line and slower but with fantastic views of the mountains, valleys and the Cantatrice coast reaching more destinations.

By bus:
There is a fast and efficient coach route that connects Cudillero with Oviedo and many more cities such as Madrid, Bilbao and Santander.

By car:
You can travel to Cudillero via the Cantatrice Expressway (Autovia del Cantábrico) and the national 632.
