Hostel Description
We provide a pleasant and rustic accommodation, especially for individuals, families and groups looking for a peaceful and meditative atmosphere, to enjoy the natural beauty of the island and to discover its spiritual and cultural heritage.
Our hostel is very particular: it's an old country house located in a quiet area of Inis Mor.
It's a historical building that once used to be the bailiffs' place, but is now owned by a local non-profit organization working to promote Celtic culture and spirituality, self-sufficiency, community sustainable development, ECO-TOURISM. More info at: www.aislingarann.ie
20 beds with free bed linen are available in 3 dormitories.
Our facilities include a large spacious sitting room and a homely self catering kitchen.
Camping facilities for about 4 tents can also be provided.
The Hostel has beautiful views, right next to some monuments, a 10 minutes walk from Tigh Fitz Pub, and 40 minutes walk from Kilronan village. At the pier you can arrange for bicycle or mini-bus hire to come to the hostel and also to visit the island.
At the hostel you can buy an independent guide-book to the island written by Dara Molloy, describing the myths, legends and history of Arainn - Inis Mor.
We sell ORGANIC vegetables that we grow ourselves and free range eggs (according to our chicken's will!) and fresh fish and seafood are available locally.
We normally ask people to check in between 14:00 and 21:00, check out before 10:30, and of course to warn us in case they want to cancel their booking.
We are not a party house, we apply a very strict ALCOHOL, TOBACCO and MOBILE PHONE FREE policy that you are invited to respect; curfew is at 23:00.
Sorry, we are ?not? equipped to take credit cards but there is a cash machine in the Kilronan supermarket.
