Hostel Description
Popular with both cyclists and walkers, the hostel offers access to some lovely un-spoilt villages and the Galloway Hills. Fishing is available close by on the Black Water and River Ken. Picturesque Threave Castle and Gardens are just 20 miles away. Clatterinshaws, 15 miles, has a Deer Museum and Goat Park.

The 520 (Castle Douglas - Ayr) can stop on the A713 opposite the hostel. Approx. 30 mins walk through Scottish Power grounds to the hostel on B7000.
By train
Nearest train stations: Maybole (23 miles), New Cumnock (23 miles), Dumfries (45 miles).
By Car
Hostel lies on B7000 halfway between Carsphairn and St John's Town of Dalry. From South: A713 to Dalry, A702 for 0.5 mile, B7000. From North: A713 to Carsphairn, B729 for 3 miles, B7000. From East: A702 to Moniaive, B729 for 12 miles, B7000. Hostel is signposted either way.
On Foot
Hostel is linked to Southern Upland Way (1.5 miles).
