Hostel Description
Set up in 1994, the city center?s hostel is still run by helpful and experienced backpackers and over the years we have welcomed close to 50,000 people from all over the world.
Located in an historic Victorian building, we are surrounded by shops, pubs, eat-ins and take-outs, sights and sounds plus a launderette and food shopping including a 24 hour supermarket.
Our facilities include a large fully-equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee, a social lounge with free internet, T.V. and films, comfy beds with duvets, lockers in all rooms, laundry facilities and washrooms with 24 hr hot showers.
NEW - we now also have a large new social room with pool table, table tennis, sofas, music and games,
If you are looking for a place to spend the Summer and get some money together, we offer a weekly rate* for all those who wish to stay long term and information and guidance on finding work of which there is plenty up for grabs in Nottingham. If you are just on the tourism trail for a night or 2, we will provide you with a free map, information and leaflets on sights so you know your way around.
The city also offers lots of great live music, cultural events and of course Mr. Robin Hood!
Open all day all year until 3 a.m., the Igloo offers no chores or heavy rules - just a chance to meet some friendly people and get a good night's sleep at the end of an active day. If you are ever in town, pay us a visit!

Hostel Directions
Walk - from the T.I.C at Market Square, head for Clumber Street and walk straight on for 10 min past the Victoria Shopping Centre to the Golden Fleece pub on your left. We are diagonally opposite. Please note entry is on the side of the building - red front door on the corner of Mansfield Road and Fulforth Street.
Tram - catch a tram from the train station (Station Street - around the corner from Broadmarsh bus station) - pay the conductor £1.30 and get off at the 4th stop by the University on Goldsmith Street. Walk up the road, take the second road right (Peel St.) and follow to the end where you hit Mansfield Road.
We are the house on the opposite corner behind the trees.
The walk takes 5 minutes.
Arriving from the airport you should catch the Skylink bus and get off at the Friar Lane stop by Market Square.
Walk diagonally across the square past the lion statue and you will see the information centre. We are 10 minute by foot from here (see directions above).
