Hostel Description
The hotel is located in two originally gothic buildings forming a part of fortification wall of the royal town of ?eské Bud?jovice. The city wall protected on this spot one of the most important gates into town the Prague gate what was pulled down in 19th century and what stood next to our hotel.
In the renaissance era the houses changed frequently their owners who did some minor changes at the front elevations what were given the shapes of a renaissance building, so rare in town. The great fire of ?eské Bud?jovice in 1641 left the buildings almost by miracle untouched while most of the town was left in ruins.
During the reconstruction we found a late gothic fresco hidden underneath shifts of plaster. To our astonishment we realized that it presents The Babtism of our Lord in a form of one of the best preserved frescos in town of that time.
