Hotel Loeven is located in a historical building. In the 1840s Hotel Loeven was an inn called Loeven (=Tiger). At that time Copenhagen was still surrounded by ramparts that made the country's biggest fortress, and protected Copenhagen from attacks from the mainland. The inns along Vesterbrogade were used as accommodation for travelers, who wanted lodging outside the city gates.
Today Hotel Loeven offers a modern and reasonable alternative to expensive hotels for guests who want central but informal accommodation in Copenhagen.
