Our convenient location on the quiet Kingussie High Street means we?re easy to get to by road, rail, cycle or on foot and are just a short stroll from all that Kingussie has to offer.

A recent, purpose built, modern conversion of a lovely old traditional highland building, Happy Days Hostel is independent & family run and is a great place to use as a base for exploring this part of the Scottish Highlands or as a stopover if you?re passing through.

Rest your head on our fluffy pillows & snuggle down under your duvet in our modern beds or bunks and you are guaranteed a good night?s sleep, all in the comfort & privacy of your warm, en-suite room.

RELAX.
Our cosy guest lounge is ideal for putting your feet up, chatting to fellow guests from around the world, writing your postcards, doing your e-mails, reading your book or simply watching satellite TV.

FOOD/DRINK.
We are unique amongst local hostels that we also run the Happy Days Café / Diner right next door.
Open from 7.00am to 7.00pm daily we serve great value, hearty breakfasts, morning coffees, lunches & afternoon teas & snacks.

Beers & Wines.
We stock a good range of top-quality, locally brewed beers and a nice choice of good value wines too so that you can enjoy a wee drink with your food in the Café/Diner.

Cold Drinks.
We offer a full range of chilled soft drinks.

Self Catering.
If you prefer to prepare your own food, we have a very well equipped Guest Kitchen for you to use.

There?s a good range of shops in Kingussie where you can buy what you need ? the Co-op, just a few doors away, stays open late too.

Eating Out.
Kingussie also offers a good choice of places to get a bite to eat or to enjoy a wee drink as the mood takes you and nowhere is more than 2 or 3 minutes stroll away.

By Rail.
We are just a few minutes walk from the train station, which is on the main railway line between Perth & Inverness, offering good connections from Glasgow, Edinburgh & all points south.

By Bus.
Citylink Coach services from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Inverness also stop in Kingussie - connections from the South are frequent.

By Air.
By air, if you're planning to hire a car, you can fly to Inverness, Glasgow or Edinburgh and be in Kingussie in a couple of hours.

By Cycle.
The Sustrans Route 7 passes right by our front door.

By Car.
From Inverness, Aberdeen & the North.
Heading down the A9 from the North, you take the turning marked Kingussie & Newtonmore. On entering Kingussie itself, you?ll find us on the right hand side of the road after about 500 metres.

From Perth & the South.
Route 1.
Head north up the A9 and take the first turning signposted for Newtonmore. Follow this road through Newtonmore & on to Kingussie, 3 miles north. Go straight through the traffic lights in the Town Centre & you will find us 200 metres further along on the left hand side.

Route 2.
Ignoring the Newtonmore turning, carry on up the A9 for a further 6 miles and take the turning sognposted for Kingussie. On entering Kingussie itself, you?ll find us on the right hand side of the road after about 500 metres.

From Fort William & the South West.
Drive up the A86 until you reach Newtonmore, turning left onto the main street opposite The Glen Hotel. Follow this road through Newtonmore & on to Kingussie, 3 miles north. Go straight through the traffic lights in the Town Centre & you will find us 200 metres further along on the left hand side.
