Big Apple Hostel Istanbul is one of the cheapest, most comfortable and coziest hostels in the city. It was established in 2004 , in akbiyik street sultanahmet. The Big Apple Hostel is located in the heart of Sultanahmet, just steps away from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Citern, Topkapý Palace and many others historical places. It is on the most famous street (Akbiyik) which is a paradise for antiques.

We have single and double rooms and dorms, all included bed linen and towels. Our guests can also avail of free wireless Internet access and telephone and fax facilities. The sea view terrace and the top roof of the hostel are great places for enjoying breakfast and barbeques, which take place every evening. Here, you can also watch the famous hostel dance, performed by our multilingual staff.

Our hostel is full of fun and friendly and the ideal starting point for those looking to enjoy the many things Istanbul has to offer!

By air- we can collect you from the ATATURK airport (Main Airport on the European side) for €12 (between 09h00 and 21h00) and €15(between 21h00 and 09h00). THIS COST IS VALID UP TO 8 PERSONS. Please meet at the Meeting Point pick up next to the information desk number 1. We will need to know your airline, flight number, arrival date and time. Please email us this information at least 24 hours before your arrival time. We can also pick you up from the SABIHA GOKCEN Airport (on the Asian side) for 40€ (09h00 and21h00) and 50€ (between21h00 and 09h00) This cost is also valid up to 8 persons. (We strongly recommend you use this service as it is not only secure, but also the cheapest private transport available).
Alternatively, take the airport bus shuttle (the Havas bus) or tramway-metro to Aksaray. From there take another tram to Sultanahmet (the tram runs from 06.00 in the morning to 23.30 in the night). Follow the directions below once you get off the tram.

By bus- take the tram to Aksaray. From there you need to cross the main road via the pedestrian subway (which is underneath the road). After you exit the subway, you will see another tram line opposite you, called Yusuf Pasa. Take the tram to Sultanahmet. Make sure you are going in the right direction! Get off at the Sultanahmet stop. Get off the tram and walk downhill. You will see a Tourist Information office. They are open in the daytime and they can help direct you to the guesthouse. If not, walk through the park towards the Blue Mosque. Pass in front of the Blue Mosque on your right. Walk down the road - you will see the Blue Hotel (MAVI EV) on the corner. Turn right as the road curves. Take the first road on the left. You will see numerous carpet shops. Walk down and then take the first road on the left and then the first right- you will see the Big Apple Hostel sign. In case you have any problems, please phone us and we will come and get you.

By train-If you let us know when you are arriving we can pick you up from the train station for FREE!!! (In case of delay we can't wait) or else when you arrive at Sirkeci train station, take the tram opposite the station to Sultanahmet and then follow the directions given above.

By boat- when you arrive at Karakoy, walk across Galata Bridge and take the tram to Sultanahmet. (FREE pick up from the Karaköy Harbour as well. Please just let us know before you arrive there).

Don't be misled by offers of alternative accommodation- there are many people working on commission... who can take you to unpleasant accommodation!
