Amstel House

Amstel House is opened since July 2005, in an Art Nouveau building which dates back to 1914 situated in the Old-Berlin city district of Tiergarten. After two renovations, it is now a modern hostel with 24h reception, and hosts groups as well as backpackers, families on holiday and single travellers.

Our rooms:
large dorm: equipped with 5 or 6 bunk-beds, lockers for backpacks (bring or buy your own pad-lock), shared facilities on the same floor.
small dorm: equipped with 2 bunk-beds, wash-basin, lockers, chairs and table, shared facilities on the same floor.
private double en-suite: equipped with 2 single beds, shower/ WC en-suite, locker, table, chairs
private single-suite: equipped with 1 single bed, shower/ WC en-suite, locker, table, chair.
Notice:
Bed linen, towels and breakfast are not included in the accommodation price but available at the 24-7 reception for an one-off-fee!

We are located in a district full of tradition which offers with its quiet streets, parks, restaurants, and local pubs, a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that makes our guests feeling welcomed like nowhere else in the city.

The nearby subway station U-Tumstr which is just a few minute by foot from Amstel House, is a perfect start to discover Berlin. It is centrally located and easily reachable: only 7 minutes away from the central station, 15 minutes from Tegel airport, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and Hackescher Markt, 2 stops with the U-Bahn from the Zoo station and the Kurfürstendamm.

Amstel House offers a variety of facilities: a rich breakfast, tourist information, ticket services, guided tours, internet, laundry service, bike rental or just a beer while planning your next activity.

You´ll find Amstel House Hostel next to U Bahn Station Turmstrasse (U9)

TRAIN:
If arrival at main station Hauptbahnhof-Lehrter Bahnhof: get on the bus Bus TXL (Airport Bus) direction Flughafen Berlin Tegel (TXL) for 2 stations. Get off at Staiton U-Bahn Turmstr.
If arrival at station Ostbahnhof: take S-Bahn Line S-7 or S-9 directon Grunewald/ Wannsee and change at station Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten and take Underground U-Bahn Line 9, direction Osloer Str. for 2 stops and get off at station U-Bahnhof Turmstr.
If arrival at Station Zoologischer Garten: take Underground U-Bahn Line 9 direction Osloer Str. for 2 stops and get off at station U-Bahnhof Turmstr. Take the exit at the head of the train turn right and follow Turmstr. for 3 blocks. Turn right at Bremer Str. for 1 block. Turn left into Waldenserstr. and follow the left handed sidewalk until number 31.

PLANE:
Airport Tegel (TXL):Take Bus ?TXL" for 6 stops until station U-Bhf. Turmstr.
Airport Schönefeld (SXF): Take Airport Shuttle until S-Bhf. Flughafen Schönefeld change into S-Bahn Line S-9 direction Grunewald change at station Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten and take Underground U-Bahn Line 9, direction Osloer Str. for 2 stops and get off at station U-Bahnhof Turmstr..

BERLIN BUS TERMINAL (ZOB):
Follow the signs to Underground station Kaiserdamm (3 minutes walk). Get on Underground U-Bahn Line 2 direction Pankow for 5 stops get off at Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten (Zoo Station) to the U-Bahn Line 9, direction Osloer Str. for 2 stops and get off at station U-Bahnhof Turmstrasse.

From Turmstrasse.: Follow Turmstr., until the intersection with Bremer Str. (3rd one). Turn right into Bremer Str., go straight ahead and pass the market-hall until the intersection with Waldenserstr. Turn left and you will reach Amstel House after a few meters on your left hand site.
